shades of pink

here we go again :)

latest work by Wishing Tree

Jul 13, 2009

the next tiffany

we both were on leave today & we had the chance to pay our second visit to coming bertandang hall. as advised by our decorator, we finally changed our venue to be the one closest to escalator & she suggested for 'L' walkway instead of typical straight lane. i cant really decide, the fact our hall is too small making my priority shall go for comfortable layout of our 500 guests rather than our walking aisle. there's still plenty of time anyway!

by the way, below are inspirations i wish to copycat for my tiffany wedding...glasses of themed-water hehe! those tall containers are quite pricey to afford, so i might opt for smaller ones & get bunch of white flowers on top. to save some cost, i should limit this deco perhaps to meja pengantin or room deco je ;)

DIY centerpiece

since we're going buffet style for penang reception, guest table sudah pastinya kosong tanpa sebarang deco kan, so im thinking of having one for max 40 tables. simple or very mini je pun ok.

so brides, this my first attempt to DIY guest table centerpiece. it was done few months back, tapi kurang keyakinan to blog them, hehe. btw, i worked from this
inspiration ;)

Items bought @ SSF

mini glass - rm1.00

hydrangea - rm7.90 @ rm 10.90..lupe!
(can cut to 4-5 mini bunches)

tiffany polka dot ribbon - rm0.80/m
(can use for 2 centrepieces/m)

sponge - rm2
(can cut to 8-10 mini sponges)

the outcome; one with slim glass and right pic with gemok glass.
comot gile, bunga pun tak balance hehe!!

p/s : lecehnya to drive them home from kl, wasting carspace je hu hu..haruskah outsource? hihihi

nikah theme

we finally picked white as our nikah theme. reason being, our nikah & reception will be on same sunday, we dont want our nikah to be way off from tiffany reception theme, so, white will be our best playsafe for now :)

to slash some cost, we'll utilize same white pelamin for nikah & reception. except, i'll put a simple white bench for reception pelamin.

the only stuff i'm not 'going white' is hantaran. i'd always love them in pastels and below are breathtaking samples by
Nasz. roses, eustoma and sweet william is my fave combo for hantaran. again, it's subject to availability of these fresh flowers in my hometown...

colorful pastels for her customer, Lina

pastel for her tiffany client

i've found my fave alas dulang too, from mag jela, comes in white but seems like nowhere to be found apart from MK and Lynda Rahim. obviously im not going to rent from them hehe...masih bertanya-tanya few hantaran makers if they happen to have one....

fuschia - sweet and light

the day we decided fuschia to be our bertandang theme, i've gotten few recommendations to combine the theme with black. honestly, i'm not really into black, esp for wedding, as the color tend to dominate the theme.

the traditionalist inside me telling the combination is speaking gothic combo (read: MAC Hello Kitty) than the sweet-look that i'm seeking for.

still, it's not easy to convince how those bright fuschia could live up our desired sweet theme. but i believe playing with shades of pink and soft purple would do some wonders. i've seen one in Indon bridal mag earlier, but they added up pink lighting to support the theme. our local, Wishing Tree did once for a chinese wedding, impressive one but i bet it's costly too, sigh, sigh.

i googled high and low for fuschia and pink shades pelamin deco and above pic is the closest i could find. it's not even gothic, the combo just as sweet as i wanted.

we're not looking for excessive deco since our hall is small. and regarding decorator, i've been YM-ing this lady for months and her quotation seems to fit our small budget for fresh flowers decor. there are few too offering cheaper package, but this lady has the plus point for her experience handling bright colors wedding decor (and it's not easy to get a vendor who semangat to layan your silly questions for months too hehe.....). afterall, they're still on paper, not much i could say until the big day itself, kan.

just a tip friends - dont get easily excited with quotation for fresh flower wedding deco. some are cheaper due to daun lebih banyak dari bunga, so do check...sample of their previous work would be your best guru to benchmark :)

but brides, always remember, things dont always come as per our plan. the best thing is to keep surveying while you have time and finally, pray for the best. cheers ;)

officially him

It's official now ..

Udey Ismail is our main photographer for nikah & home reception in Penang :) we did survey avicenna, nurulsuhaimi, prettypeektures, jangguttouch. somehow, love at first sight that keep bringing us back to him hehe.

for outstation customer, we entitled for 30mins free outdoor photoshoot. Coupled with their extended promo, we have total of 1.5hrs free outdoor. to-do :
lookout nearby place for outdoor & shorten to max 1 hr je.

for majlis bertandang, after bayar booking lah baru spell out ;) hehe.

we checked out the Curve D&P last weekend. been eyeing for their Estrellas almost a year now and GR 3*** still the tempting one as ever .. my second choice if their sister co. not putting up any sale this December hehehe.

anyway, i came across this pic while surfing for fuschia ideas. i can now relate my color to flowers too yeay, like how u link lavender to purple :D this is due to hard time explaining to veterans what fuschia really really is..

"pink mcm bunga kertas tu lah maktok.." (sambil pointing pokok di halaman rumah) hihi.

but, bougainvillas do come in magenta too :P

well, life's just too short to bother fuschia/magenta thingy.
except wedding decorators, as long the rest know it's hot pink..i'm totally fine :D

wearing tiffany

i'm home and returning to office with piles of work waiting is ... *yawn* blogging will keep me up, so let's do some wedding update :)

slight change to reception dress.

silver lace with soft tiffany lining bought
earlier was veto-ed off by mom. agreed, it wasn't my 1st choice pun. the one i was eyeing selling at rm230/m in Silk Route Mayestik, so for 5m tailoring will definitely ruin my pocket! well basically, that was how i ended up with cheaper silver lace & reserve my white french lace for majlis bertandang.

but but ....

not after my visit to Tanah Abang last sunday ... one of textile shop at basement selling the exact white French lace with tiffany blue flower at similar pricetag ....except, it came with big 50% discount sign on top! the barganing went on, we finally settled with rm95/meter wheeee...!! *will share shop info & my just-back report in next entry*

we reached Mayestik by 6pm. with heavy rain outside, we decided to survey only up to 4 nearby shops and the final & longggg stop was at Silk Route. Mr. Gobin recall me; the girl who belek that white french lace with tiffany blue flower for hours but akhirnya tak beli jugak ..... dang! i showed him the exact lace bought in TA and he was screaming right after he knew the price wahaha :D

white always the dominant.
while tiffany complementing for perfection ..

i was singing all the way back home. and readers....you definitely know why hihi ;D

sleepy

i finally concluded 2008 income tax, and this year marked as my first being eligible tax payer ..

part of my dissapoinment : if gov really promoting healthy lifestyle, why cant they allow tax deduction for gym membership as what they waive for sport equipment purchase..? *sigh*

met photographer during lunchtime, sort of completing my survey between these 2 photographers for majlis bertandang. meeting with first photographer was done earlier on sunday, making the comparison whole lot easier today ..

i'm pretty satisfied with today's quotation. seems to me 2nd photographer had more to offer than the first one, tho their prices are almost similar! ok, a diff of 50 bux :P

i'm sharing you the summary for both ..

1st photographer
- senior photographer with assistant
- well known co.
- better album finishing
- 4hrs coverage, based on friends' experience usually more than stated hours ..
- 1 storybook album 10x12
- promotion of that extra hour still ongoing

2nd photographer
- cheaper by 50 bux :P
- CC member
- principal photographer with assistant
- 7hrs coverage
- 1 storybook album 10x24
- 1 pocket album with briefcase, with 200pcs coloured + sephia pix

we're quite firm with our choice, am a little confused when the 2nd photographer still refuse my booking deposit and wanted me to continue survey before hiring him. pelik tetapi benar. he currently blockbooking the date for us & let me confirm NOTHING earlier than these 2 weeks, hihihi ....

anyway, i found local malay wedding with fuschia theme. not much of fuschia actually, the flowers used for deco still the pastel pink roses but at least, i can be sure the theme isn't that weird and it can be worked out in our local wedding, hehehe ....

local fuschia

i'm looking for local wedding having this theme.
any local pic/link to share?

mostly found pics were mat salleh's wedding,
where their deco is extravagant & exaggerated,
fret it might drag me to dream way too much, gulp.

p/s : i cant really differentiate fuschia & magenta *LOL*

contemplating

source

to tell you the whole truth, i plan for both receptions and so far, single handed. and very unfortunately, both receptions take place at different loc - penang & kl.

i talked alot on tiffany wedding of my side, while ironically,
the white lace dreaming is actually something to do with his reception hehe.

regardless of any color theme chosen for his side, one thing for sure is i'll be wearing WHITE.

we both love red +white & gotta admit the choice was so much influenced by Nas' superb signature of red wedding theme ehhe. and all this while, thought we're quite certain about taking red as final for his reception.

but not after my recent purchase of Ratu Sehari 8th edition.
pg 131 somehow twisted everything..........
i just wanted to steal the color. yang pasti, temanya bukan segemilang itu :)

plenty of time to think about. let's hope this works!

wedding to be rememberred

one of my fave wedding, it was in my folder quite a longgg time.
i didnt know the couple, happened to stumble upon the piccies while wedding hunting on net.
Knysa & Omar, they called.

they had a perfect one. they themselves a perfect couple - sama cantik & sama padan or bagai pinang dibelah dua like we used to say, kan.

with my plumpy bod, i know i wont look good in songket. but i adore those wearing one for their wedding, and the one that i admire definitely a white songket. Knysa's blue songket with lace by Salikin Sidek was darnnn lovely, and soo matched her traditional wedding theme.

and i must say, they had the most wedding montages on net i ever seen. complete collection of their journey to bliss, with syahdu background songs by myshots. photos & videos, you named it.

here's the montage link. be prepared to sway your romantic emotion, ehhe.

princess wishes

we had a great time watching Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes last saturday, our last weekend before his transfer to PD coming April.

love the show, and the kids who came and dressed up in their fave Disney's princess...complete with tiara and yeah, glittery heels....sorta reminiscing, me, being a little girl whose wedding dream was too much influenced & fantasized by Disney's princesses happy ending. with gaun kembang2, added with elbow length gloves and that longggg train of your veil. hey, you smiled - means i'm not the only one. gotcha! *grin*

and as this little girl grown up, nothing better for her to realize that "fairytale' wedding that she used to dream during her childhood is almost....nonsense?

but she didn't deny some "little" girls are fortunate enough to have more than what they used to dream long time ago.

entry ntahpape, eve of Monday blues *LOL*

mini centerpiece

Hi again, I’m bored. Damn bored.

To bring down this boredom, I decided to flip again my wedding folder, not those girly one with fancy ribbon (Read: computer folder) and start picking up some idea to blog about.

CENTERPIECE FOR GUEST TABLE. Not a-must, really. And often in my place, we’re not used to such deco for under-canopy weddings.

I’d love to have it, I don’t mind it’s not as big or tall or bold as this – my wedding will just be in a small town of Kepala Batas, remember?

I just wanted something tiny, and very personal. Not blocking the sight too; tak syioklah nak bergossip :P

I just need this. The artificial just as good as fresh one, believe me.

And….this.

*POOOOOF*

And here’s the not-so-magic, mini glass with bunch of hydrangeas..! My favorite blue hydrangea with misty white glass or the other way around is just okkkayy.

Ceremony is o-ver, so what’s next with those leftovers? Can consider for free (or force-kind!) giveaway to besties/girlfriends. Nazlin Shakir tidak terkecuali (Leen, I know you’re reading this since you sooo love to google your name on net muahaha). Bride’s handmade, jgn buang!

Anyway, don’t worry, Mom will veto her “NO” straight away. And be prepared for her mak-mak excuse..”MEMBAZIR!!” Kuikuikui.

tiffany favors hunting

talking about wedding favors, nowadays most brides would go for something simple & yet stylish. i'd still love traditional egg giving for reception, especially for my side. hopefully mom wont pop any idea of having goodie bag with lots of foodies inside, no offense but seriously tak suke too much goodies.

preferred packaging either box or paper pouch. customized box a lil expensive, so pouch cukup lah kan for guest biasa. and these were a-la tiffany pouch i found on net.

but i know, good quality paper for such pouch wont come cheap too. i dont need such super quality thick paper for such too la, come on nanti orang buang jugak kan ehhe. memadai la if it's nice, fit enough and can safely hold the egg, kan?

and later i found this piccy from Bandung favor maker. simple one, a-la paper pouch that i wanted with personalised tag. since it's from Bandung, i really really hope it comes CHEAP cos i'm looking for 1000++ pieces with some tiffany theme. i'm still waiting for their quotation, and will go for it if really worth during my trip to Bandung-Jakarta this coming April. since the pouch is ringan, harap2 tak leceh la nak bawak balik Malaysia later hee..

let's pray..!

wedding @ tiffany's...

tiffany theme canopies!
beautiful, but i dont dream such lavishness.
not to that extend of tiffany ribbon covered chair of course.
i just need at least that tiffany scallop to live up the theme. at least.
and talking about Penang canopy supplier/caterer, berapa ramai sangat la yang ade color ni eh...? ke takde?

white & misty

tgh best layan It's All About You by McFly. sweet song if you're thinking for childhood/pre-wedding montage :)

today's nonsense is about having all-white wedding. i never oppose for couple dressing in white & at same time having those white too for their pelamin - something that most of you or at least, color expert would never ever agreed to! thot it's sooooo pure & stylish.

used to safekeep this pelamin pic for quite some time. seems personalized & something extraordinaire...

until i came across wedding of our beloved sexyback dance teacher, Linda J. Notice the pelamin? and they were all in whites tooo. hey, it works!

same goes to recent Sariyanti's. i still and forever think the all-whites work. yes, proper lighting would do the wonders, especially when you have those crystals around..

whites, chandelier, crystals, candles, chiffon = think Kapas Couture!
